These 80 paintings are selected from ten diverse series, spanning the last 20 years. They capture some of my influences, intent, creativity and growth.
The paintings are organized around visual & thematic continuity.
The themes of a series are best described by the title of, or idea for, that show.
Although anonymous in the body of the site, the following series' titles should provide context and inform the paintings:
They start with a string of narrative paintings from
- NYisKillinMe - life stories from NYC. As they stagger off, paintings from
- Out of Body - emerge and float through them. This series seeps into
- God had a Middle Man - portraits of drug dealers and clients; & Tom Cruise.
- WesternBhakti - are the text paintings, phrases from improvised chants about violence, money & sex
- |DarkGrid| - the two grid paintings are from a series about the mind & space in 2D
The series that are woven through and follow include, ManMadeLand & ManMadeAnimal, Earthquake! Hurricane! Natural Disaster!, MurderSuicide, “Car Bomb Kills 13” & Endless War.
